Night has settled in. Unfortunately, I’m not outside to see it. Mayuno, Miome, and I went to the movies to check out the current films. We saw Happy Feet, and laughed and cried at the same time…mostly crying from laughter. We walked out of the theater and hailed a cab. He drove us to the nearest city before the car ran out of gas. We ran from him as he cursed his car. We made it out of towns and walked home.
“So,” I started, “what did you guys think of the movie?”
“It was so funny!” Mayuno said, “I laughed so hard I almost cried!”
“You almost cried,” Miome said, “I did cry!”
We laughed while we walked home. Just then searing pain shot into my arm where the automail began. I looked at my arm and saw that dark matter seemed to be shocking up and down it like lightning. I collapsed with a deep sigh of pain. “Are you ok!?” Mayuno said rushing to my side.
“I’m fine,” I said wincing from the pain, “it should stop in a minute.”
“Oh but it won’t,” said some man behind us, “unless I make it stop.”
His deep voice sounded threatening. We whipped around and saw a man with a long black coat and white hair. A long scar when down the side of his face. I knew he meant danger. “Who are you!” I shouted at the top of my lungs. The pain stopped so I stood up. He laughed at my attempt to protect the girls by stepping in front of them.
“Do you really think that will work?” he said crossing his arms.
He teleported behind us and grabbed Mayuno and Miome around the neck. “Don’t struggle,” he said calmly, “it will only get you killed faster.” They stopped instantly. “Now, as for you, Mike was it, I suggest you give me your soul while you still have the chance.” I noticed the number SS-3146 on his neck. “You’re a SS, aren’t you. A Soul Stealer.” I said turning around slowly, “You’re nothing compared to my power.” Miome and Mayuno noticed that my red iris was glowing brightly. “What’s your name?” I asked the man, wanting some answers. “My name,” he said, “is Xaldin.” The name clicked in my head from Kingdom Hearts II. But this guy wasn’t like him. He threw Miome and Mayuno backwards as a cage of dark matter surrounded them, trapping them like birds in a birdcage. “And now,” he shouted pulling one of his gloves on tighter, “LET THE GAMES BEGIN!”
I charged him with my fist forward. He teleported and tried to kick me. I dodged it and grabbed his leg, then swung him to the ground. Just before contact he teleported in front of me and tried to punch me. I dodged it, and dodged a few more he sent at me. He was fast, but I was slightly faster. I tried to uppercut him, but he swung around and tripped me. He tried to knee me in the chest, but I used my automail hand to block it, my glove being torn to shreds in the process, and was sent flying towards Mayuno’s cage. He allowed the bars to bend so I flew in, but made them harden as I smashed into the one at the opposite end, knocking me almost unconscious. Mayuno helped me up, but I was barely with it. “Ha ha ha, it’s been a pleasure fighting you Mike, but now I shall get what I came for.” He snapped his hands and the cage around Miome disappeared and somehow attached to her wrists and ankles. She floated slowly towards him.
“What are you going to do!” she shouted as she was a few feet in front of him.
He walked up to her, “I need a fresh soul, one from a young maiden, and I will soon have two.”
“Don’t you dare touch her!” I shouted from the cage. The symbol on my hand began to slightly glow.
“And what can you do?” he said laughing, “Now…your soul is MINE!” Dark matter shout out of his hands and connected with Miome’s chest as she let out a scream, absorbing her soul slowly.
I freaked and collapsed to one knee, the symbol on my hand glowed an extremely bright purple, then turned black. Dark matter began to touch my body as DarkFire shot up around me. “Mike, are you ok!?” Mayuno said, not sure on what was happening. I pulled off both of my Desert Eagles and slid them to her. “If I go crazy and try to kill you or Miome, I want you to kill me.” I said seriously, “This is dark energy, I don’t know how much control I’ll have.” Just then I was engulfed in darkness.
Xaldin seemed to enjoy absorbing her soul, when he caught a glimpse of me. My body, every feature had become jet black, everything but my eyes, which were extremely white, no color to them at all. I seemed to have dark matter fogging of my skin and around me. I leaned forward and shattered the bars of the cage like toothpicks, then jump a good sixty feet into the air, before landing, as if the jump was like a step. I made no sound, I was a mute, and a stealthy one at that. I stared at Xaldin, examining him. The matter from his hands continued to go into Miome, and she seem almost unconscious. I darted at him with immeasurable speeds. I had my right hand placed into his, canceling the absorption. I swung him around like a rag doll and smashed him to the ground. I began to pummel him with extreme moves that most being could not do. I back flipped onto his chest, drilled into his abdomen, scissor kicked his neck, knee, elbow, and shoulder slamed him, and all in a fraction of a second. My arm then became a blade and I hovered above him with the blade through him. He was about to cough blood when I began to spin in air and move up and down his body, as if I was following a sketch on where to go. This was a five second attack, when I landed, standing straight up with no emotions in front of his head, and he just vaporized into the air.
Mayuno’s cage broke free and she landed on the ground, but Miome’s binding weren’t going away. I walked up to Miome, and she grew scared. “Mike, what are you doing!?” she shouted as I stopped moving. My arm became a blade again, and she shut her eyes. When she opened them, she had fallen out of her binding and into my arms. She looked at me as the power began to fade, my face showing that I was smiling as the darkness came off like it was being peeled away. “Thanks a lot Mike!” she said happily. “Hey, that’s what friends are fo-” I collapsed to my knees, setting Miome down as gently as possible. The last thing I heard was both Miome and Mayuno shouting my name.
I awoke in a house not of my own with a cold washcloth on my forehead. I tried to get up, but was pushed back down.
“What the-”
“Don’t try to get up, you’ve been through a lot.”
It was Mayuno’s voice. I saw her face and Miome’s face.
“What the, what happened?”
“You blacked out…literally.” Miome said.
“I did?” I said. Suddenly, all the memories flashed into my mind.
“How’d you do that anyways?” Mayuno asked.
“Well, it was DarkFire alchemy,” I said, “that’s for sure. But I guess when its mixed with hatred and rage, it can actually transform the mind and body. I felt like a killing machine, but I couldn’t stop myself.” I looked at my hand and saw that the symbol in my hand had gone from the silver of the automail to black. Could this have been the affect of the transformation?
“So,” Mayuno asked, “what’ll you call that transformation technique?”
I thought about it for a second as they watched me carefully. “I shall call it:” I said, “Shadow Form.” They both agreed it was cool. We sat there and talked about how it happened. They told me someone else was there, they looked exactly like me, same hair and eye color, except that his hair was styled like Roxas’s from Kingdom Hearts II. I wondered who this mysterious person could be, but I assumed it was just nothing. Mayuno gave me my guns back, and Miome thanked me over and over for saving her. I said goodbye and said I was going home. I left, but I didn’t go home. Instead I went to the spot I go to think, the cliff with the single oak tree on it. I sat there and thought about all of the things that had happened to me tonight. I pieced them together with what had happened the night before. It was strange that the Federation had its freaks out on patrol, as the city usually stays quiet. Unless it wasn’t for patrol…and they were searching for something. Then it hit me: what the man that attacked Megan said, I’m a DarkFire alchemist, one of the few. If they wanted to find some way of harnessing my extreme power, they would just need a sample, like the bodies of those two men! By now they were gone, whether from the wolves or Federation’s doing, there was no way I would find them. This town just got a whole lot darker. I went home and fell asleep, the night had taken all of my strength away. I felt as if something in me was missing right as I drifted off.

The cold silence of space only punctuates the feeling of death that emanates from this virtuously lifeless planet.
Only one thing is alive and well here...evil. And it must be destroyed, decimated, exterminated.
But first, it must be found...
