Laziness
As I sit here contemplating
"Should I move or stay?"
The time I waste by waiting
Begins to slip away.
I'm thirsty and I want a drink
But my legs are saying "No!"
It's times like this that make me think
There's no such thing as "go."
I'm bored with watching television,
But the remote's across the room.
I start to see with blurry vision
As I fade into the gloom.
For dinner I'll order delivery,
though I can't quite reach the phone.
I guess tonight I'll just go hungry
Since I'm lazy and alone.
I'm just as limp as a dirty cloth
And feel as though I'm pinned.
It seems as though my fight with Sloth
Is one I'll never win.
