We all have talents.
However, there are two types of talents. There are natural talents, and there are learned talents.
Natural talents are what we humans are best at. Our natural talents are skills that require little refinement in order to be used to it's maximum efficiency. Most of the time, we don't even know they are a talent because it feels so completely second-nature to us. Even with half the effort, a person with a natural talent in drawing can produce a piece better than a person with drawing as a learned talent with all of their effort. It's the way the human mind works. Natural talents are better in-tune with the mind of the user than learned talents, as this talent was probably given to him or her by genetics or maybe God as part of His divine plan for them, but enough about religion, this is a logical journal entry. Usually, natural talents begin to develop at a young age, and is very hard to catch as a natural talent as most parents will simply blow off this natural talent as a "phase of interest". Curiosity, if you will. Yes yes, I'm sure it's curiosity when the child is able to perform better than the majority of adults.
Natural talents can fall under the same category or be completely un-related to each other. Natural talents are what people should be using the most in their jobs, as it will lead them to live happy lives as they work. Most people that complain life's a b***h are only in jobs because of the money or the people that they know, not for what they actually are doing in the first place. However, natural talents are not limited to the traditional talents that most people think of, such as drawing, painting, writing, playing a musical instrument, etc. Those are only talents in the ARTS. For example, you can have a talent in predicting the weather. According to Dictionary.com, a talent is Quote: a capacity for achievement or success; ability . Therefore, anything that you are able to excel in with little effort is a natural talent.
Learned talents are completely different. They are talents that we were taught and we are good at. However, we are not GREAT at these talents. These talents, like natural talents, can be in the same category or complete opposites. These talents are more prevalent to us as most of the time these are the talents that we use. Most of the time, these talents are learned through classes. However, each person has a different way of learning things due to their personality type from the Myers-Briggs 16 Personality types. Learned talents develop at faster or slower rates, it depends on the individual's style of learning, and how much exposure he or she has to the now developing talent. It can range from a few weeks to a life-time.
I have been able to identify a few of my natural talents and many learned talents.
My natural talents are: -Anything related to computers.
-Able to understand, comprehend, analyze and explain to others mathematical procedures, scientific theories, and how computers work.
-Guitar playing. (This is being refined into a useable form, as I have not been playing my entire lifetime.)
My learned talents:
-Using and producing work in Flash. -Using and producing work in Photoshop. -Writing essays, speeches, arguments with heavy logic behind them.
My natural talents come from my personality type, the INTJ. http://www.mypersonality.info/personality-types/intj/
From what I've picked up, INTJs are the smartest of all 16 personality types. I've also come to the conclusion that the INTJ is a more extreme version of the INTP.
