The final version of what will be presented to my guild's officer ring tonight:
The Guild Engineer -------------------------------------
- Specialized and stripped down officer, has no power in raids, and has no authority in making decisions regarding guild changes. Allowed to voice opinion but cannot make decisions.
- Generates ideas to bring to the officers for debate.
- Analyzes situations and gives input using logic.
- Alters existing systems for more efficiency.
- Eases strain on other officers by allowing brainstorming to be focused on one or two individuals, but all other officers can come up with ideas, optional.
- Due to logical nature, can be an active member of Loot Council if needed to be.
- Independent entity, answers only to the GM.
- Must be part of officer meeting as will take notes and use notes to generate new ideas.
- Limited guild bank access.
- Has access to officer forums in order to know what's going on in both the guild and the officer circle.
Ranking:
Officer Alt Guild Engineer Officer
Idea 1 (3 strike system) ------------------------------
- Can solve behavior problems.
- Must be posted in General or have its own section so all members and potential applicants are aware of the system.
- Main thread posted in Officer section that keeps track of strikes.
- Main thread poster must be online often in order to keep original post updated.
- Original post must contain examples of violations that allow strikes to be added.
- Officers post in thread with guild member name, strike #, and reasoning.
- "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times, you're gone."
- Gives enough chances for someone to fix themselves up but does not give a mile to those who continually screw up.
- Members are warned when they have one strike left. Can be used as a psychological weapon.
- After 6 weeks of good behavior, a strike can be removed.
Causes for a strike ---------------
1. If any guild member signs up for a raid, fails to show up, and did not edit his or her Group Calendar entry to show absence of the raid.
2. If any raid member acts like an asshat during raids.
3. If any guild member curses out any officer, co-GM, or the GM.
4. If any raid member intentionally manipulates the movements of mobs in order to disrupt a raid.
5. If any guild member continously mic spams during a raid to require a global mute.
6. If any guild member attends a raid while under the influence of any substance that impairs raid performance.
7. If any raid member intentionally pulls a boss when not told to do so.
8. If any raid member fails to listen to proper raid instructions given by any officer,co-GM, or the GM.
9. If any raid member intentionally pull when the raid is not completely ready and the main tank has not counted down until a pull.
10. All other events not listed in these rules are subject to the discretion of the officers, the co-GMs, and the GM to determine if a strike is worth issuing.
Idea 2 (Officer Specialization) --------------------------------------
Examples: Zero: "Communication Technician" due to maintenance of Ventrilo and website.
Mogly: Scholar, Philosopher, and Mediator.
- Specializations allow officers to bring their best attributes to the table in order to help the raid.
- Allows officers to focus on one area, lowering their amount of work.
- President and his advisors, The Cabinet.
