I was completely outraged at my fathers cold dissmissle of me and of Star. Always I have been respectful, and honorable toward father. Always I had been the one to back down but no longer. I would make my stand here and now. For my future and my freedom I will not fail.
"Father how could you do that to Star, she has always done her tasks and proven her loyalty time and again how can you do that to her?"
"Loyalty to her king or to her friend, Katheren?" He asked as if he could see down to my very soul.
"Father! Star has always been loyal to you and would never go against you, even for me. You know that very well."
"Yet she defied me by your side just know"
"If that were the case then she wouldn't have left us, she woud still be here would she not? I will not back down this time father I have my own dreams and desires. I will be cursed if I am to live out yours threw me as well."
"How dare your speek to me like that," He bellowed
"I will not change for you or anyone I want to be me and I know of only one way to settle this" I turned and walked to the wall and hit the triger for the wall to open. I entered the secret chamber and emerged with two swords and faced my father. "I call for the challenge! father"
"You wouldn't, you really feel that way? Very well who is your witness and what is your terms?" He asked as he gaze changed I noted the love and hurt I had just placed there but it had to be.
"My witness shall be Star. My terms are if I win the challenge I get to leave on the moons full night and explore, to be me and have freedom"
"I will except you witness and call my witness to be my adviser. I will agree to your terms on two conditions. If you lose you will never speak on this again, if you win you have to stay to meet the prince and if you don't like him you may leave after the celebration, agreed" He said as he sent for the two witnesses to be brought forward. I thought long and hard over his conditions.
This was easyer than I had thought, what did I have to lose. I knew I could win, my fighting was in top condition for I train hours a Day, the only thing he has is experiance. "I agree father" I said as the witnesses appeared, Star looked at me wide eyed, but said nothing. Our agreement appeared in magic upon the wall of the chamber. "My weapon I choose is the sword father," I declaired as I haded him the other sword. Star steped forward to declair the challenge.
"We have seen and bear witness to the challege, there shall be no magic used in this duel, but upon ones own merit and skills the winner shall be desided. We acknowledge the challenge and shall see that the terms are kept. Shall magic enter the terms are void and it shall be a draw. Are both sides in agreement then?"
"Yes," I all but yelled
"Yes," the king said more hesitant, looking in my eyes agian.
"Then the challenge is engaged, begin," Star stated and we begain.

We walked to the middle of the room the fountain to my right, withnesses to the left, there we stared each other down, measuring each other. I calmed myself, running in would be a mistake for my father was a excelent swordsmen and tought me well, however it has been a while since we have spared. We begain to circle each other as we took the others gaze.
"sure you will not have a change of heart, Daughter?"
"No father, I will not lose this"
"Then I have no choice, but to take you down," He said and chared, he was fast even for and elf. Lucky for me I also inherrited his genes and meet the trust head on with just as much speed in my own right. We squared away for a few hours, neither giving any ground, nor taking any there was a breif pause.
"Father, I must admit your age isn't getting in your way," I said as I bowed in respect briefly
"Katheren, I must say that you have gotten quiet good as well in my appsence in the ring. very good reflexes and skills but , play time is ends now. He pulled the dager from his swords hilt and took on a very different stance. I mirror his choice with my own dager but had a different style in mind. This time I charged first and together we performed intrecate sword forms as if performing and intercate dance were there were no mistakes, then I noted an opening and took it, knocking his sword out of his hand. Unfortantly he droped quicker than expected and did a monkey sweep on me. I fell quicker than stones, deflecting his dager and kicking up. Father backed away for a miss and instead retreved his sword and squared for another round.
we fought for the rest of the day, fitege was starting to set in for both fighters, though neither wavered or gave and inch. I mainaged to score tree hits one being on my fathers sholder and two upon his legs. He however scored on hit to my arm and one to my leg. we were quiet matched when a noice destracted us.
"Sire I bring bad new.... I ..."
Father looked away and knew it was a trap but I had a opening and desided now would be the best time to end this before I could no longer stand. I charged but then broke quick left and spun back around and knocked his sword out of his hand but he kneed me in the ribs and I retreated this time, he charged and knocked my sword away and took it instead. I back fliped trying to make his sword but he cut me off and had me aginst the wall I blocked with the dagger and maganged to uptain his dagger with his own move. I pushed off of the wall and thrust both daggers at him, which he paried nicely. Then I managed to drop his dagger on a strong blow with the sword and lost my balance brefly tring to side step, but he practicaly had me now and I knew it. I had to do something, I would not give up on myself. I will win my will is strong, as I demanded that God hear my plea, It can't end this way.
At that moment my dagger pulled water too it and extended into a short sword. Father stoped quickly
"Katheren, No magic, you have forfited your claim"
"Father, I did no such thing...I don't know what is happening," I said as the water engulfed me swerling around me, then rushing like a river to my father. "No! I yelled" and placed a barrior around my father.
"Katheren!" father strengthend my barrior however the wave came back upon me like a mercyless tied, I couldn't block it fast enough suddenly drained of all energy I colasped as the wave hit me. I hit the marble wall behind me knocking the wind from my lungs.
