“I don't think you understand just what is being offered.” Edward insisted.
“No, I probably don't.” I admitted easily enough. “When it comes down to to it, I know very little about you; as vampires.”
“If you learned, would it change your mind?” Vlad moved my bangs from one side of my forehead to the other. I smiled and brushed his hand away, putting my bangs back where they'd been. I needed to get my hair cut. I'd been wearing wigs in the theater lately, so I hadn't been paying attention.
“I don't know.” I admitted “It might.”
Edward was not the type to let things lie. He leaned over me; and gave me a long, lingering kiss, trailing down my neck, and his tongue flicking out at the small almost scar at the base of my neck, making me shiver.
“Then what do you need to know?” he whispered into my skin.
“You just don't give up, do you?” I laughed.
“No.” He licked again. “Never.”
“But...”
Vlad kissed me, this time “No buts” he breathed. His breath was hot, and smelled vaguely metallic. “Never.”

“I think that we'll have to show him the worst of it, Edward.”
Edward's head came up like a hound on the scent.
“Vlad, I don't think-”
“No.” He stalled Edward's objection. “It's only fair.”
“It will break him.”
“Thank you for your confidence.” I said dryly.
“I don't want to loose you.”
“I think you're more scared than I am.” I laughed.
“He is.” Vlad smiled. “You are always more afraid of things that you know than of things of which you have no ken.”
“Not necessarily. Most people are are more afraid of the unknown.”
“You have no idea...” he curled the ends of my hair around his fingers.
“Ah stop that.” I brushed his hand away.
“No really, you don't.” Edward said sadly. “And no matter what you say, “I can't help but trying to show you what we mean will loose you to me forever.”
“I see.”
“No. You don't.” he kissed me again, and I let him. “But that's okay. For now, we can let it lie; can't we?”
“Yes. For now.” Vlad frowned slightly. “But not for long.”
