yup, leave it to the catholic church to deny that i have a mind of my own. be it that i'm a woman or just the simple fact that i'm naturally open minded, i seem to piss off everyone, and the church is no exception. now see, here's how it is. i can't consider myself catholic; i don't believe in any of their s**t. here's the catholic church in a nutshell: close minded hypocrites. how so?
every sunday, they take collections because the church needs money, but we recently purchased MARBLE alters (a bit extravagent for a church that's supposed to help the poor, no?) in classes, they wanna teach us what THEY think, which, if that's what the church thinks, would mean that catholics are the stupidest group of people ever to disgrace the human race. i mean, it's as if they want so badly to beleive in something that they'll believe whatever the first person they meet says and leave it at that; theyll refuse to believe the logic or even listen to the opinions of other people.
anyways, allow me to explain my latest problem with them. i was in my catochism class (the lil "we're gonna teach you how to propperly be religious because even though your supposed to have a personal relationship with god, we like to butt in!" class.) and my teacher wrote on the board for us to write our opinion on this statement: chastity is ideal for marriage. then say: Chastity is good because...
well, i made the mistake of writing what i actually felt and then saying what i wrote. sorry you called on me? anyways, i wrote: chastity is neither a good nor bad thing." and elaborated, but when i read that to the teacher she was like "no, that's wrong." so i started saying, "not really, because people are gonna do what they wanna do regardless of what anyone says. god created people to fall under temptation in order to make us stronger and get us closer to him." and she was like, "but in the bible, it says it's wrong." so i replied "well, it doesn't matter. it said a lot of things were wrong. the point of them being wrong is so we can mess up and learn to live right." and she kept saying, "no your wrong, that's not what the bible says, blah blah blah." and i was just saying, "it doesn't matter what the bible says, i've read a lot of the bible and i know that people will go against it regardless of whether or not they've read it or whether or not god says it's right or wrong. it doesn't effect anyone else cuz it's our own desiscion, and no matter what you say, its not gonna make a marriage any better." and we kept going on and on and on. so eventually i just said, "can we just drop this? we're talking in circles and everyone's annoyed" and her response was "no we can't because you don't understand." and at that point, i gave up trying to give my logic and realized, "wow, it's not just a few people. they all seem to think that if you'r open minded you're wrong." so yeah, i've stereotyped catholics because i've gone there for fourteen years and have yet to meet someone who 1) agrees with me, or 2) someone who agrees with me but leaves the church because it's against what they believe.
so now i ask, wtf is wrong with people like me? i mean, i'm not gonna stay with this religion, i'm only going because if i didnt, my dad would hate me even more. come this time next year, i will never go to a catholic church again. but what about the other people? what's their reason?
